We organized design activity in Beykoz Glasshouse with the participation of both Turkish and refugee students from Yaşarpaşalı Elementary School. During our design activity held on November 2nd in company with psychologists as facilitators and volunteers, children were asked to observe the basic details of glass art and to reveal their own creativity.
The Role of Glass Art: Combining Differences
The glass craftsman gave information to the children on how to recycle the broken glass and showed how he shaped the glass by blowing from a distance. After then the children designed their own products with glass pieces and these products were sent to them by cargo. The social skills of the children experiencing glass shaping for the first time were supported, and the feelings of unity and solidarity among Turkish and refugee children were strengthened.
