Turkish Children and Refugee Children Are Meeting In Theatre

As of October with the support of Sultanbeyli Municipality we have started to guide theatre groups in Sultanbeyli in Yıldırım Beyazıt Elemantary School where Syrian and Turkish children have education. ‘’Ibis and His Friends’’ was the theatre play of this month.

The Topic of Cleaning and Health was Treated
Theatre play was played as 3 sessions because of the great interest of students and teachers in the school. In the play which addressed to children, didactic side regarding Ibis’s general lifestyle habits such being clean and healthy came to the forefront in a enjoyful way, and especially toward the end of the play children had the chance to interactively involve in the play.

Refugee Children Have a High Level of Linguistic Skill
It is possible to say that sessions ongoing for 45 minutes have sufficient duration to motivate children. Moreover, it can be said that in the same way with Turkish children Syrian children’ sufficiently understanding a Turkish theatre play indicates to the point of which their linguistic skills have developed and has reached a certain level in ongoing time.

Children of two nations uniting in a folk dance, halay which was organized for the end of the play looked hopeful.
