Turkish and Syrian Children Came Together for a Theatre Event

An event called “Theatre for Children” has been held with 800 Syrian students and 20 Turkish students form the Altınay College. The event was organized in partnership with GIZ and Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and Mülteciler Association and the support of the Cultural Directorate of Sultanbeyli Municipality.

Many Syrian children out of the group, who witnessed for the first time in their lives a theatre play, watched the whole event with great attention. Some children even could not sit in their seats out of excitement and couldn’t take off their eyes for a moment from the show.

The actors playing the game were positively surprised by the reactions and ability of understanding the humour of Syrian children about the Turkish gameplay. The event was very enjoyable both for the theatre team, who performed for the first time for a Syrian audience, and for the Syrian children who went to the theatres for the first time.
