Turkish and Syrian Children Are Coming together with Sports Activities

Turkish and Syrian Children came together through sports activities in order to contribute to the rehabilitation process of refugee children living in Sultanbeyli, organized as a project by Mülteciler Association.

Syrian children started their sports activities at the Sultanbeyli Municipal Sports Hall within the project supported by GIZ and Welthungerhilfe. The project, which will continue for 6 months aims to train Syrian children through sports to integrate them into social life in Turkey.

A total of 50 children, 25 in primary school and 25 in secondary school, will be picked up from their schools and participate in activities at the Sultanbeyli Sports Hall. Activities include body activities, mind games (Jenga, tangram, reversi, qwirkle, katamino and magic tower) and hall sports (handball, futsal, squash, table tennis etc.). 300 children in total will benefit from the project, at the end of 6 months.

Turkish students will also participate in these sporting events. In this way, children will behave the chance to develop communication with each other and build up new friendships.
