As Refugee Association, all our activities aim refugees to facilitate to access their existing rights that refugees have as a human being and to contribute to their adaptation to the new country in which they live. Creating an environment that will enable local people and refugees to live in harmony with one another expresses our most fundamental purpose as a non-governmental organization. As an association we consider to serve for this purpose as much as our potential power.
Why Was This Education Important?
The activities carried out by the Social Cohesion Department in our association focuses directly on social cohesion. However, although everybody who works in our institution works on different projects for different main purposes, in fact we all contribute mainly to “social cohesion”. As the members of the Refugees Association, it was very important for us to talk about, to discuss what “social cohesion” is and finally what we can do in this field as an association.
Notes From The Workshop
Education was at the “Bilgi Sosyal Kuluçka Merkezi” with the support of Musa Akgül’s facilitation. We have increased our awareness of “social cohesion” in education and we have had the opportunity to discuss different methods all together. It was a very pleasant and useful education that enable the Social Cohesion Department to explain itself better and what they want to do in the near future. The workshop, designed in an interactive structure, had a theoretical framework for “social cohesion”. Right after, with the activities prepared in an interactive structure, we talked about what kind of social cohesion activities we can design together. By means of the healthy environment provided by the “Bilgi Sosyal Kuluçka Merkezi” for education and Musa Akgül’s support as a facilitator, we left behind a more productive education in order to bring out better studies.
