Fasih Bey Started Walking with Prosthetic Support

Fasih, who underwent surgery due to diabetes, has found a new lease on life with his prosthetic leg. At the age of 60, he applied to our organization using an electric wheelchair after undergoing a below-knee amputation on his right leg due to diabetes.

Now, He thanks to his prosthetic leg, he can stand up and walk again. After the surgery, Fasih was added to the RASAS Waiting list for a rehabilitation program. The rehabilitation treatment provided by the association aimed to strengthen his lower extremity muscles.

Fasih immediately started his treatment at our rehabilitation center in Ümraniye, where he followed an intensive three-month program under the guidance of physiotherapists. Finally, the moment Fasih Bey had been waiting for arrived. The experts fitted him with the prosthetic leg, and from that moment on, his life changed.

Using the prosthetic leg, Fasih stood up and started walking again. This great achievement filled both Fasih and the RASAS team with immense happiness. Fasih expressed that the prosthetic leg was a significant turning point in his life.

Feeling the joy of being able to perform daily activities independently at home once again, Fasih said, “Thanks to the association, I’ve made a fresh start in my life. I feel strong and independent. Without their support, I wouldn’t have reached this point.”

The RASAS continues its efforts to improve the lives of disadvantaged individuals in the community. The rehabilitation programs aim to enhance the quality of life for refugees and offer them hope.
