Khalil, 34, who was amputated as a result of a vehicle accident in Palestine, continued to struggle without despair and came to Turkey and had the opportunity to make a fresh start.
Khalil reached the Refugees Association in August 2022 and requested prosthetic support. He started to benefit from physical therapy sessions and Psychosocial Support Services in order to cope with the pain and phantom pain that Khalil felt in his body, to prepare for the prosthesis process and to strengthen his muscles.
After a period of 12 sessions, prosthesis measurements were taken in January and the sessions continued. In March, the prosthesis was delivered to Khalil. Now Khalil is able to walk without any assistance and is able to perform daily living activities on his own.
Together with our partner Limbfit, we are proud to support individuals like Khalil and enable them to step into a new life. This transformation in Khalil’s life with prosthetic support is an example of his perseverance and resilience.
