Youth and Mental Health In a Changing World

On 10 October World Mental Health Day, which was first celebrated by the World Mental Health Federation in 1992,  we aim to bring the important mental health problems of our country and the world, mental health policies and related issues to the agenda of society and public again to create awareness and to solve the problems. We have supported the World Mental Health Day on 10 October with the theme of “Youth and Mental Health in a Changing World”.

Our clinic psychologists at the Refuge Association have organized a two-session event intended for women within the scope of the World Mental Health Day. The first session of the event included definition of stress, stress in daily life, reaction to stress, interactive ways of coping with stress and relaxation exercises. In the second session, a yoga workshop was held. First level flexing and basic yoga poses were practicsed by combining the soul and body health within the same theme. Different breathing and breathing methods were shown. Basic yoga philosophies such as controlling breath, body and posture were taught during the yoga practices and movements. The water bottle-towel set was distributed to the participants at the end of the sessions. In addition,  fruit and water were offered.

Awareness-raising activities will continue with the support of Welthungerhilfe.
